Description: 

Memoir Writing will provide the tools you need to write a compelling book about a facet of your infinite life, over two weeks, two hours per meeting.

  • Discover how to focus your story as a “memoir”, around one theme, event, or idea.
  • Learn how to craft narrative, focus on a strong point of view, and engage “premise” to tell compelling true stories.
  • Get valuable peer and instructor review: write and submit work for useful feedback.
  • Beginners and seasoned writers welcome.

About the Instructor: 

Joselin Linder is an author and writing instructor. Her work has appeared in The New York Times; The New York Post; Elle; and NPR’s Morning Edition. She has published eight books across a number of genres including business books like The Gamification Revolution with Gabe Zichermann (RandomHouse); humor books including The Stoned Family Robinson (Adams Media) and The Purity Test (MacMillan); and relationship guides including The Good Girl’s Guide to Living in Sin with Elena Donovan Mauer. Her memoir, The Family Gene (HarperCollins) explores the unnamed genetic disease only found in fourteen members of her family, first introduced at TedX Gowanus. She lives in Brooklyn, NY with her husband and two dogs.
