Moving Poems with Katie Basile
Thursdays, February 9, 16, 23 & March 2, 9, 2023
6 PM – 8 PM AKDT
This class takes place on more than one date (February 9, 16, 23 & March 2, 9) but must be registered for as a single class.
Learn to turn one of your poems into a 1-3 minute film with filmmaker Katie Basile. Over five classes we will explore visual poetry, app-based videography and video editing to produce a “moving poem”. Some class time will be dedicated to writing poetry but you may also choose to produce your film based on something you’ve already written. Together we will integrate text, narration, music and visuals to produce short films that we will present in an online class screening on the last day. Our goal is to explore new ways to share poetry and to have fun!
You will need a computer with internet and a Zoom account and an iPhone or iPad with video editing software.
