Live from Storyknife is a monthly reading series featuring the guest residents of the Storyknife Writers Retreat.
Amber Blaeser-Wardzala is an Anishinaabe writer, beader, and fencer from White Earth Nation in Minnesota. A current MFA Candidate at Arizona State University, her writing is published or forthcoming from The Iowa Review, Joyland, Passages North, Tahoma Literary Review, and others. She is the Nonfiction Editor for Hayden’s Ferry Review.
Maren Curtis is a Nevada-born screenwriter and novelist. A geographer by training, she draws from her prior work in international development, energy, and climate to tell stories about how people transform despair into purpose. She was awarded a Hedgebrook residency in 2022. Her screenplays have been selected for the Athena Lab, Cinestory, and the Stowe Narrative Lab.
Christine Larusso is a Chicana-Chinese poet from Los Angeles, California. Her work has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, The Literary Review, Pleiades, Women’s Studies Quarterly, Court Green, and elsewhere.
Kara Roanhorse, Diné, is a Ph.D. student in American Studies at the University of New Mexico. She is working on multiple projects focused on Critical Indigenous youth studies, Indigenous/Black feminist critique, and liberation movements. Her creative writing explores radical relationality, love, grief, and friendship through the lens of queer Indigenous feminisms.
