December 9 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Ode to the Un: Praising the Unnoticed, Unappreciated, and Unloved

with Brittney Corrigan

Date: December 9, 2024
Time: 6:00-8:00pm AKT
Location: Virtual (Zoom)

Description:
In this workshop, participants will be encouraged to turn their attention to the humble and overlooked beings in landscapes they’ve lived in or observed. We’ll look at some unexpected odes written to plants, creatures, and places that are generally not thought of as praiseworthy. Participants will be invited to write their own ode (in poetry or prose) praising an unappreciated or unloved aspect of the natural world (think snakes, possums, cockroaches, poison oak, etc.).

This is a multi-genre class. Writers of all skill levels are welcome.

Pricing and Registration: This course is open to both members and non-members. Non-member registration will open on November 1, 2024.

  • Member price: $40/person
  • Non-member price: $50/person

Refund & Cancellation Policy: If the event or class is cancelled for reasons beyond 49 Writers’s control, all fees will be refunded in full. In the event that an attendee is unable to attend for personal reasons, fees are nonrefundable.
