Description: Join us for Unblocked Creativity: a relaxing, restorative day-long retreat designed specifically for Alaska’s creative writers. Escape from the hustle and bustle of the world and spend the day reconnecting with your creative spirit, clearing creative blocks, and setting fresh intentions for your creative journey in 2024. Experience the healing power of communal writing exercises, breathwork in nature, gentle somatic movement, and guided meditation to recover your creative flow.

Who is this for?
This retreat is open to writers of all ages, genres, and skill levels.
What should I wear?
Cozy clothing is encouraged! Be sure to bring warm layers and snow boots for a midday stroll in nature. For those who wish to stay warm and dry, an alternative indoor activity will be available during the nature walk portion of this retreat.
What about meals?
A hearty hot lunch will be provided, in addition to light snacks and beverages available throughout the day. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies when you register for this retreat.
Do I have to be a writer?
No! While our discussions will be primarily geared toward writing, our activities will benefit creatives of all stripes.
Should I bring anything else?
Yes! Please bring your preferred writing tools (notebook, pen, and/or laptop) and a book if you’re feeling inspired to read between group activities and freewriting time.

Refund & Cancellation Policy: If the event or class is cancelled for reasons beyond 49 Writers’s control, all fees will be refunded in full. In the event that an attendee is unable to attend for personal reasons, registration fees are nonrefundable, but ARE transferable. If something comes up and you’d like to send someone in your place, it is the participant’s responsibility to fill their spot and notify the retreat coordinator ahead of the event.
About the Instructor: Krysta Voskowsky (she/her) is a Memoirist, Certified Author Coach, and Marketing Consultant specializing in growing brands for authors and small businesses based right here in Alaska. She holds an MFA from Emerson College in Creative Nonfiction and her work has been featured in Eating Well Magazine, Spry Literary Journal, and Liminis Literary + Art Journal, among others. Krysta is an elected Board Member of the Alaska Writers Guild and co-founder of CreativiTea Alaska– a weekly writers group hosted in the Mat-Su Valley.
