The Anchorage Centennial Advisory Committee has designated
Anchorage Remembers as an official Anchorage
Centennial event! The purpose of this 49 Writers project is to help local
residents, including senior citizens, to transform their memories into
compelling poetry and prose as a means of documenting their experiences in Anchorage
while engaging in meaningful artistic activity that enriches their lives.

In
the latter half of 2013, 49 writers will begin offering special memoir writing
workshops to Anchorage residents.
In 2014, we will call for submissions to an Anchorage Remembers anthology to be
published and distributed in spring 2015.
