Andromeda: Revisiting the Summer Success of Kizzia and Lende

Next Wednesday we’ll meet our September featured author. Today we’ll check in with bestselling Alaska author news that many of us may have missed over our busy summer.

It was hard to miss the instant success of Pilgrim’s Wilderness by Homer’s Tom Kizzia, who received lots of media coverage and participated in many events celebrating his book’s debut. But I personally missed this Q&A in The New York Times.

When I heard Haines author and 49W regular Heather Lende made the New York Times bestseller list for ebook, I thought that meant her newest book of essays was already out. Not so. It was her first book, If You Lived Here, I’d Know Your Name that made the list at #17–surprising even her, as she explains in this short post.

Any big Alaska book news you missed this summer? Any sneak previews of exciting news to come? Make sure to let us know.
