has been my pleasure to be part of the Alaska literary scene for the last
fifteen years in a variety of roles. Alaskan writers are such an amazing group
of people, full of spirit and intelligence and a fierce desire to improve their
craft. As the new Executive Director, I look forward to working with the board
of 49 Writers and with all of you to continue creating an organization that
fosters a vibrant community that comes together to inspire, create, and
share.

amazing trajectory in a mere five years – classes, workshops, readings, special
programs, and more. Together we can continue to build upon this strong
foundation. And so I ask you, what can 49 Writers do (or continue to do) to
help your writing practice? What is your vision as a member of this passionate
community? I have an open heart for whatever will serve all of us so that we
each have a way to strengthen and share our written voice.
