You have two weeks until the Sept. 1 deadline if you’re thinking of applying for a $5000 Rasmuson Foundation project grant for individual artists (including writers) living and working in Alaska. The foundation is exeptional in understanding what real working artists need, including money for attending retreats or conferences, travel/research time, and so on. Diane Benson, Democratic candidate for Congress and also a published writer, will be offering “Writing Tips and Political Rips” at the Alaska Writers Guild meeting on Tuesday, August 19.
The event is 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Barnes and Noble, near the fireplace. Benson is an Alaskan politician, inspirational speaker, video production consultant, and dramatist. The event is open to all writers.
