Alaska’s new State
Writer Laureate Nora Marks Dauenhauer will appear tonight in our first
Crosscurrents event of 2013 for an onstage conversation with Diane Benson: Tuesday, February 19 at 7 pm at the Wilda Marston Theatre, Loussac Library.
We’re pleased to bring you this event in partnership with the
Anchorage Public Library and Alaska Writers Guild. As a preview, Nora has
kindly allowed us to present three of her poems here:

blossoms
swaying in the wind.

Museum

Alaska Native youth
flickering
in strobelight:
disco diorama.

Wealth
        –for all Tlingit women
                who slice fish for the
smokehouse

Slime squishing
through gold and silver bracelets:
women slicing salmon.
