I love the holidays, but as years pass, the emotional draw of certain traditions can turn stale. Not so with this 49 Writers holiday tradition, the sharing of a piece by Harper Lee, one that touches something deep in me each time I read it.
In her essay “Christmas to Me,” Lee tells of a precious gift she received one long-ago Christmas, a gift any writer would cherish, a gift that in turn reached beyond one aspiring writer to millions of readers, in the form of Lee’s classic novel, To Kill a Mockingbird.
Warmest holiday wishes to you!
