An opportunity for northern writers in the Northern Review

We are crunching the results of the 49 writers survey, and look forward to sharing the insights with you soon. But here’s one preview: Michael Engelhard of Fairbanks would like to see more opportunity listings. Good idea. To help us get started, he sent us this one. Thanks Michael!

Call for Submissions:
The Northern Review Special Literary Issue
Deadline April 30, 2009

The Northern Review seeks submissions for our second special literary issue, to be published in Fall 2009. The first literary issue, Number 10, was published in Summer 1993.

We are interested in receiving previously unpublished short works of fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction about the North and/or set in the North. We are also interested in receiving scholarship on northern literature.

The review process will be double-blind. Your name should not appear anywhere on your submission, except on the cover page. Please also include your email and snail-mail addresses and phone number on the cover page. Authors may submit more than one entry for consideration.

Submissions (sent as attachments, not in the body of the email) and inquiries to the managing editor dmcleod@yukoncollege.yk.ca.
