read from their extensive body of work at the UAA/APU Consortium Library (LIB
307). Nora Marks Dauenhauer and Richard Dauenhauer are in the unique position
of being the current and a former Alaska State Writer Laureate (as Dick jokes, “his-and-hers”).
Richard has a new book coming out, Benchmarks:
New and Selected Poems (distributed by University of Chicago for
University of Alaska Press). You won’t want to miss this! Our thanks go to the

Reading & Craft Talk at Great Harvest Bread Company, entitled “Among
Wolves: How a Book Found Me.” Tune in to Alaska Public Radio’s “Talk of Alaska” on Oct. 8, 10am, when she’ll be talking with Steve Heimel about her book. You are also invited to celebrate the book’s release at a special event on Oct. 20, 3:30-5:30pm, at the Loussac Library’s Wilda Marston Theatre, where Marybeth will share some of Gordon Haber’s photographs, stories, and insights about Alaska’s wolves. The paperback version of Debby Dahl Edwardson‘s young adult book, My Name is Not Easy (a Battle of the Books title this year) is now out. Debby is currently working on a teacher’s guide with the goal of getting it into schools outside Alaska too.
Alaskan writer David Holthouse’s play, Stalking the Bogeyman, has opened in Asheville, NC and will premiere off-Broadway in April 2014.
